YOUR HOME SHOULD WORK
WITH YOU, NOT AGAINST YOU.
You don’t need another system that looks beautiful for three days and then falls apart.
You don’t need more containers.
And you definitely don’t need to become an entirely different person to keep your home organized.
You need a home that works for the person who actually lives there.
That’s what we create together.
I DON’T SEE YOUR MESS THE WAY YOU DO.
I know that sometimes you might feel nervous about letting me into your home, especially if you’ve spent months—or years—telling yourself you really should have sorted this out by now.
I know you’ve tried.
More than once too.
You’ve probably even bought the containers, moved the piles and cleared the kitchen bench only to find everything migrating back a few days later.
Maybe, like me, you’ve spent far too much time wondering why you can’t just keep on top of it, and the mess itself has started to feel like evidence of failing something you should be better at by now.
I understand that feeling so deeply.
But while you’re worrying about what I’m going to think about the cupboard you can’t close or the basement you’ve been avoiding for years, my brain is already playing Lego.
I’m looking at the whole space and moving things around in my head, categorizing, calculating, seeing where something could fit, where a shelf could completely change the way the room works and how we could create a system that makes putting something away easier than continuing to move it around.
You see everything that’s wrong with the room, but I see somewhere we can start.
YOU DON’T HAVE TO CLEAN BEFORE I COME.
Seriously.
Don’t spend three days frantically organizing your house before hiring the person you’ve hired to help you organize your house.
I don’t need to see the version of your home that looks good.
I need to see the version you actually live in.
That’s where the useful information is.
I ORGANIZE FOR THE HUMAN WHO ACTUALLY LIVES HERE.
I’ve learned there is very little point in creating an organizational system that looks like a Pinterest board when I leave but requires you to become an entirely different person to maintain it.
I’m autistic and ADHD, and I’ve learned this the hard way myself.
I can create systems and have an organized home, and I can also have times when my own house is a fucking mess.
Sometimes I don’t have the capacity, and sometimes the rebellious part of me decides we’re not putting anything back where it belongs today.
But the difference now is that I have the tools.
When I’m ready, I know how to find my way back to ease and space.
That’s what I want to be able to show you too.
You can do this.
Sometimes you just need some help to see what you’re capable of.
BEFORE I ORGANIZE YOUR SPACE, I WANT TO UNDERSTAND YOU.
Human Design gives me another way of understanding the whole picture of the person standing beside me.
I use it within my organizing work to pay attention to how you make decisions, what you have energy for, what kind of environment supports you, how much structure or flexibility might feel good, along with all the little things your body is telling me while we’re standing there deciding whether you actually want to keep something.
HOW YOU MAKE DECISIONS
Maybe making decisions quickly doesn’t feel good, and you need space to come back to something.
WHAT YOU HAVE ENERGY FOR
Maybe your capacity changes, and your systems need to account for that.
WHAT YOUR ENVIRONMENT NEEDS
Maybe you need to see everything because if it’s hidden behind a cupboard door, it may as well not exist.
HOW MUCH STRUCTURE YOU NEED
Maybe a highly structured system makes you feel trapped rather than supported.
Maybe you need more flexibility.
Maybe you’ve spent years trying to organize your home according to how someone else told you it should work.
Your chart gives me another layer of information to work with, but you’re always the expert on you.
Your design comes into the room with us too—not as a set of rules about how you’re supposed to live, but as another way of understanding what might help you feel more at home in your own space.
WHAT DO WE ACTUALLY DO?
SOMETIMES WE END UP IN THE BASEMENT.
Yup, literally and figuratively.
I go to the depths with people, and sometimes that means looking at the things you’ve been walking past for years and asking:
What are you avoiding? What aren’t you looking at? What aren’t you making decisions on?
Because clearing a space means making decisions, and often times the things sitting there are still sitting there simply because we haven’t known what decision to make about them.
Sometimes sure, it’s just a box of shit.
But I’ve also stood beside enough people while they go through their things to know that sometimes we’re not holding onto the thing because we need the thing.
We’re holding onto a decision we haven’t made yet.
Sometimes we’re grieving something.
Sometimes we’re admitting that a version of our life has ended.
Sometimes we’re deciding what gets to come with us into the next one.
I’m not there to judge any of that.
I’m there to help you move through it.
WE’RE NOT MEANT TO DO EVERYTHING ON OUR OWN.
This is why I want to work beside you rather than sweep into your home and organize it for you.
I work with women who are ready to participate, who are willing to go through the literal and figurative basement with me and make some of the decisions they’ve been avoiding.
You might need another brain in the room.
You might need someone who can see the whole picture when you can’t.
You might simply need a buddy beside you while you start.
I’ve needed help too, and sometimes another person beside us is exactly what helps us move.
And I also don’t want you to need me forever.
I want to show you that you can do this too.
I want you to understand what we’re doing together and leave with tools you can use in the next cupboard, the next room and the next season of your life.
I’m not interested in creating a system you can only maintain with me standing beside you.
I want you to know how to notice when something isn’t working, how to change it and how to find your way back when life inevitably gets messy again.
But if life changes and you want me beside you again for the next basement, new baby, move or giant pile of what-the-fuck-do-I-do-with-this now, I’m happy to come back.
I’VE SEEN WHAT HAPPENS WHEN SPACE OPENS UP.
I’ve watched people get time back, make decisions they’ve been sitting on, start businesses, pursue ideas and simply walk downstairs and put something away without their brain having to enter a committee meeting about where it belongs.
When you clear the clutter in your home, you create space in your home, but you also create space within yourself too.
More time with family.
More time with ourselves.
More room in our heads.
More space to be creative, curious, silly, or to do absolutely fuck all if that’s what we need that day.
That’s the space I’m interested in helping you find.
